Aubergines: கத்திரிக்காய், Solanum melongena(also used in tamil movie Vamsam, said by sunaina),  egg-shaped typically dark purple fruit US, Canadian, and Australian name eggplant. Wiki: The nightshade Solanum melongena, also known as the aubergine, brinjal eggplant, eggplant, melongene, brinjal or guinea squash, is a member of the plant family Solanaceae.

Dum Pukht: Cooking, Dum’ means to ‘breathe in’ and ‘Pukht’ to 'cook'. Dum Pukht cooking uses a round, heavy – bottomed pot, a handi, in which food is tightly sealed and cooked over a slow fire.
